This Flickr source was by far my most favorite of all the digital sources I used. These photos were taken by someone who traveled to the Mapuche region, immersed themselves into the Mapuche community and was welcomed enough to take pictures, and historically document their daily activities. This collection is even more important because it is during a yearly celebration of the Mapuche. Therefore, we can see how they dressed traditionally, played music, spent time with their families and more. It also offers a unique perspective on how they are also assimilating into regular society, because in the photos you can still see iPhones, regular clothes and traditional society. FOLIL. This academic source was by far my favorite to read and use in this research project. All of the accounts in it were poignant and full of social justice measures. It highlighted the discrimination that these group members face everyday, and also explained the reasonings that led to the aforementioned discrimination. Something it also highlighted in regards to the "shadows" it mentions, is that how so many of the Mapuche need to live in the shadows of Santiago, and how this has caused a detrimental effect on those Mapuche as well as what society as a whole perceives them as.
